Visa

The outbreak and spread of coronavirus is front of mind for everyone.  In these challenging times, Visa is focused first and foremost upon ensuring the safety of our employees and their loved ones in China and around the world.

As governments, authorities and medical experts intensify efforts to fight the pandemic, we stand with all who are working to protect and support our communities.

In China, The Visa Foundation has provided USD250,000 to support affected populations and frontline medical workers, particularly in Wuhan and Hubei Province.  Visa also launched a matching gift program for donations made by Visa employees globally.

In addition, at the peak of the epidemic in China last month, a group of Visa China employees volunteered to organise the local purchase and delivery of critical supplies to hospitals and children in need.

These efforts reflect the strength and depth of Visa’s commitment to China.  For more than 30 years we’ve been operating in China, and we have always been focused on the long-term, which is now more important than ever.

As coronavirus continues to spread in many regions around the world, Visa is working closely with our clients and government agencies to understand the economic impact.

We are also working to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of service and security for all of our customers during this challenging time.

In closing, I believe that coronavirus challenges all of us to come together. Visa’s corporate mission is to connect the world through the most innovative, reliable and secure digital payment network that enables individuals, businesses, and economies to thrive.

I am confident that partnerships extending beyond borders – among public, private, and charitable organisations – will provide the collective strength we need to persevere.

Thank you.
